The terms of reference of the committee give it responsibility for:

Monitoring the Performance of the Local Strategic Partnership
Scrutiny of partnerships
Scrutiny of external organisations
Considering issues of local concern
Contributing to scrutiny of the powers held by Lancashire County Council
Responsibility for monitoring emerging government policy
Reviewing or scrutinising decisions made, or other action taken, in connection with the discharge by the responsible authorities of their crime and disorder functions
Making reports or recommendations to the Cabinet or Council with respect to the discharge of those functions.
The committee can question and gather evidence from people inside and outside the council (with their consent) and can appoint sub-committees or consultants to help it in its deliberations.

Meetings of the committee are normally held on Thursdays at 7pm. Venues vary so please check this page for agendas as and when they are available. Members of the public are normally welcome to attend.
