Welcome to details about Blackpool Fylde and Wyre LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual) Forum. The LGBT Forum was established in 2006 to raise awareness of LGBT issues in the local community at a strategic level and to ensure the LGBT community has a rightful say in all local decisions made by the Council, Police, Local Strategic Partnership and Primary Care Trust.
The LGBT Forum provides an excellent base for everyone in the local community to achieve a better understanding of the needs of LGBT members and the valuable role they play in every community.

Pastor Andy Braunston of MCC Manchester writes:
" I want to alert you to an electronic petition on the Downing Street website. As you may know Civil Partnerships cannot be celebrated in a religions building or as part of a religious wedding service. This was deliberate policy to win over the 26 Anglican Bishops who sit in the House of Lords. However, it is discrimination against those within our communities who wish to celebrate their wedding day with a religious service. The petition asks the Prime Minister to change the law. You need to be a British Citizen to sign. You can sign, and see who else has signed, by visiting here."
A few churches are starting to give blessings to civil partners who want to confirm their commitment to one another in Church as well as the civil ceremony, just like many heterosexual couples do when they get married.
