Purchasing A Grave Space at Lytham Park Cemetery.
Pre-purchasing a grave space at the Lytham Park Cemetery is a simple matter. All we require is the full name and address of the grave purchaser and payment of the current fee (see below). There will also be an interment fee for every interment in the grave.
There are three main areas for new graves within the Cemetery. The areas are described as Church of England, Non-Conformist and Roman Catholic. But any person, of any religion, can be buried in any section.
Families or individuals can choose which section where the grave will be but the exact grave space will not be allocated until the time of the first burial. This will normally be the next grave space on the row currently in use. Where two or more graves are purchased together the grave numbers will not be allocated until the time of the first burial, but the graves will be together.
All new grave spaces are of the ‘Lawn Type’ and only headstones are allowed on these graves. Memorials must be of natural stone and not exceed 3ft (914mm) high, 3ft (914mm) in width and 1ft (305mm) in depth. No wooden memorials are allowed on any grave space and no planting is allowed in the main area of the grave. All memorials must be fixed to withstand a testing pressure of 70lb (35kg) at the top of the memorial.
FEES AND CHARGES
The cost of a grave space where the deceased, at the time of death, was resident within the boundary of Fylde Borough Council is £462.00.
The cost of a grave space where the deceased, at the time of death, was NOT resident within the boundary of Fylde Borough Council is £924.00.
The current adult interment fees are £340.00 for a resident and £680.00 for a non-resident.
Where a grave was purchased by a resident of the Fylde Borough Council area and the first interment is of a person who at the time of death lived outside the borough and that person died before the grave was purchased a fee equivalent to the residents purchase price will be levied in addition to the interment fee.
(These fees will be revised on 1st April each year.)
