Wood Land Burials

A small area of land has been set aside for 'woodland style' burials. Whilst the Cemetery does not have sufficient land for a full traditional 'woodland' burial area we offer this area as a near approximation for families wishing a 'green' funeral without memorials. The area is sown with wild flowers and the maintenance will be for a wild flower meadow in the first instance. The area will only be mowed 2 or 3 times per year.

All graves in this area are single interments only. It is not possible to pre-purchase a space on this section. Once 6 burials have taken place a tree will be planted in the centre of the graves. As the number of trees increases Bluebell and other bulbs will be planted to create a woodland glade. In order to keep the area for wildlife and wild flowers no memorials or markers of any type are allowed on the graves. Any items so left will be removed as per our regulations.
