Fylde Sustainable Community Strategy

What is the Fylde Sustainable Community Strategy?
The sustainable community strategy is a long-term vision for how to make Fylde an even better place to live, work and visit. The Community Strategy is now known as the Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS), covering the whole of the Borough, from the contemporary market town centre to the beautiful villages, seaside resort and beyond. It has been compiled after listening to the views of our partners and the residents of Fylde who have shaped the vision for the future of Fylde. It was published by the Fylde Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) in 2008 and included a number of priorities.

SCS Delivery Plan 2011
Fylde Sustainable Community Strategy - Delivery Plan 2011
Over the past couple of years there have been a number of changes that have impacted on all Local Strategic Partnerships. This includes the withdrawal of the Governments performance assessment framework (LAAs and CAAs) and the introduction of new partnerships and Boards, such as the Health and Wellbeing Board. It presents both an opportunity and a challenge. However our Partnerships have now more scope to prioritise the issues that matter most to Fylde, this has provided greater delivery of the priorities within a difficult economic climate and a shifting partnership landscape.
With this in mind we felt it was important that the priorities within the Fylde Sustainable Community Strategy are reviewed to ensure that they continue to reflect the needs and priorities of our local communities. We have done this by creating a SCS Delivery Plan 2011/12 to clearly outline all Fylde LSP activities that we are aiming to achieve over the next financial year. (The SCS Delivery Plan 2011/12 document can be found in the download section). Following some initial consultation, the following priorities are proposed for the revised strategy:
• People and Communities/Environment
• Children’s Trust
• Economic Prosperity
• Community Safety
• Health and Wellbeing
