There is a formal meeting of all councillors every six weeks or so. This is often called "full council". The full council has responsibility for setting the budget, dealing with high-level strategies and policies and certain other matters. Full council meetings are held at a number of different venues in the borough.

The council carries on much of its its business through meetings of small groups of members. These are cabinet meetings and committee meetings. Cabinet meetings and committee meetings are usually held in the Town Hall at St Annes. Members of the public are welcome to attend cabinet and committee meetings. (Sometimes a particular matter may have to be discussed in private, but this is unusual).

If the meeting is held in the daytime, please come to the Town Hall reception if you want to attend a meeting. If the meeting is held in the evening, please use the door at the seaward side of the Town Hall, facing the Promenade. The door will be open from fifteen minutes before the start time of the meeting until five minutes after the start time.

You can find agendas for future meetings and minutes of past meetings by following the links to individual committees and bodies. You should note that minutes of meetings are not finalised until they are confirmed by the next meeting of the committee or body. The minutes published here should be regarded as drafts only until they have been confirmed.
