Data Protection

The council deals with thousands of pieces of information each day, some of this is about places, some of it is about things.... finally much of this information is about people.

We have setup a data assurance policy to clearly outline how we deal with all of this information. There are three aspects to the policy. The policy covers quality of information, security of information and compliance. The should help the council better serve its communities by making sure that we base decisions on good information, that information is properly protected and that we fulfill our responsibilities under the Data Protection Act.

You can download the policy via the link on this page.
