The council has a significant input into animal welfare in the community and works with several partners to protect all animals.

Several of the partners work through the Compact and the Local Strategic Partnership which can be accessed using the links to the right of this page.

The RSPCA are one of the key organisation's that we liase with regularly in respect of animal welfare.  The Dog Control team work closely with the RSPCA to find homes for strays and the licensing team engage as part of the consultation process when application's for animal licenses are submitted.  The RSPCA have produced a national good practice guide called 'Partners In Animal Welfare' which can be found on their own web site by clicking the link on the right.

Fylde Borough Council is a firm believer in the benefits of partnership working and is committed to working with the RSPCA to implement and develop the best practice code.
