Food Safety Week

The safety of the food we eat is a top priority of the Food Standards Agency and Food Safety sections of Local Authority. Food Safety Week provides and annual focus where we can promote and communicate food hygiene messages throughout the borough.

To mark the National Food Safety Week, Fylde Borough Council has sent information packs and posters to primary schools to aid teaching the importance of clean hands in the vital fight against food poisoning.

Included in this pack is:

  • Germwatch Primary School Teaching and Learning Materials
  • Germwatch Food Safety Week for Schools (Keystage 2 resource)
  • Fun Activities
  • Craft idea – make your own germ
  • Posters
  • Leaflets

Some useful websites with food safety related games include:

We hope that this pack is of use to schools and families, not only over Food Safety Week, but as a resource that can be used for throughout the year.
