Information and advice about the treatment and control of pests.

The pest control team provide a variety of treatment and preventative services.

  • Treatment for rats, mice and cockroaches in houses - £32
  • Baiting of the public sewage system as part of our overall pest reduction strategy. This work is carried out in conjunction with United Utilities.
  • Smoke testing to find the source of pest problems.
  • Treatment for wasps, ants, fleas and other insects in houses - £57
  • Home visit for ‘advice’ on a pest. £10 call out charge

We also provide the following services. These carry a charge which depends upon how complex the work is and the time it will take to complete. Quotes are available on request.

  • Commercial pest control services, either on a contract basis of in response to an incident.
  • Advice is available on the treatment of pigeons, other birds and mammals such as moles, rabbits, etc.. The Council does not provide a treatment service for these pests.
