Can I claim Council Tax Benefit?
Where a property is occupied by a mix of students and non-students, special rules apply when calculating the amount of Council Tax Benefit which the non-student can apply for. Although students themselves are not exempt from being liable to pay the Council Tax, there are some instances where no Council Tax is payable on a property occupied wholly by students.
