Fylde BC is committed to fighting fraud, determined to root out fraud, has a zero tolerance towards fraud, and will take action and/or seek redress against those people who commit fraud.

Areas of external fraud against local authorities include:

  • Housing Benefits
  • Council Tax Single Persons Discounts and Exemptions
  • Insurance claims
  • Procurement/suppliers
  • Contractors
  • Parking
  • Fees and charges
  • Grants

Fraud is not a victimless crime - it's your money. Fraud is theft and not just from the Council but against you. Help us to ensure that all spending goes on delivering and improving services to you and not into the pockets of thieves and fraudsters.

If you know or suspect someone who is stealing from or defrauding the council, please help us to do something about it. Call the anti fraud and corruption hotline on 0800 328 6340, speak to a member of the benefit fraud investigation team on 01772 906 387, or complete the confidential online reporting form.

All referrals will be treated in the strictest confidence. For more information see our Anti-Fraud and Corruption Policy and Strategy
