Housing Grant Policy

Fylde Council Town Hall
Information about housing grants available and policies the outline the grants available.
Following the government’s reforms of Home Improvement Grants, Fylde Borough Council has revised its system for helping owners maintain and improve their properties.
The strong message from central government is that the primary responsibility for maintaining private homes rests with owners, so the council is developing a new policy setting out new ways to help.
These include providing improved information across the borough and ensuring that financial assistance is particularly targeted to help vulnerable people continue to live safely in their homes.
The Disabled Facilities Grants for improvement and adaptation's to make homes more suitable for people with disabilities is continuing to operate. However, the legal changes allow greater flexibility, and could fund moves to more suitable homes.
The Council will be reviewing the policy every year, and we welcome any comments you may have. To contact us, email housing@fylde.gov.uk, call the Housing Team on 01253 658658 or write to:
