Private Sector Housing Policy

The council has recently revised its policies about how it will help people maintain the private sector housing stock. In most cases the home owner will look after their home themselves without the need for financial help from the council. In some cases though the home owner will not be able to do this. There may therefore be occasions when help from the council is available. The newly revised policies explain how and when this might happen.

It should be noted that the grants are discretionary and will be dependant on the amount of funding available. There is no automatic right to assistance.

Private sector housing policy is currently under review and this page will be updated shortly (last updated 05/04/2011)
