Lytham St. Annes Art Society is where local artists meet and exhibit works of art.
2012 EXHIBITIONS
“Treasures of the Lytham St Annes Art Collection” - May 31 – July 25 at the Fylde Gallery, Booths, Lytham.
Promises to be the most exciting and varied exhibition of the Collection yet. As well as paintings there will be some sculpture and a selection of Chinese ivories on view. The largest and most valuable painting to be on show will be “The Vision of Catherine of Aragon” by Henry Fuseli, R.A. a Swiss-born artist who came to reside in England in 1763. It depicts a scene from Act IV of Shakespeare’s King Henry VIII with Queen Catherine dreaming, attended by Patience, her handmaiden, and Griffith, her gentleman usher. Oil on canvas, the painting measures 58 x 83 inches.

The exhibition at the Fylde Gallery is admission free.
What's on 2012
MAY :
4-20: Centenary Spring Exhibition in the Fylde Gallery, upstairs in Booths supermarket in Haven Road, Lytham - 10am-6pm daily, Sundays 11am-4pm. A display of members’ work which is for sale with proceeds helping local charities. Free entrance.
JULY:
14/15: Art in the Park, open-air exhibition of members’ orginal artworks at the entrance to Ashton Gardens in St George’s Road, St Annes, 9am-5pm daily.
20- August 4: Summer Exhibition held in the Society’s studio in Haven Road, Lytham, behind the fire station. Free entry to see the artwork – items are for sale.

Busy day at the open air art show
AUGUST:
18/19: Art in the Gardens, open-air exhibition of members’ artwork in the Lytham memorial garden near trhe Piazza from 9am-4pm daily.
The Artwork
The society prides itself on a varied selection of mediums. Oils, watercolour, acrylic, pastel, pen and ink, encaustic and fabrics amongst others can all be seen around the studio.
The Members
Over the last few years membership of the society has grown to over 400 members. With a busy active calendar, the society and its members thrive.
