The Government continues to support plans for increasing participation in sport and physical activity for everyone across the country in an effort to improve the health and well-being of the population.
This drive to increase participation is being led strategically by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport through Sport England's ‘Grow, Sustain, Excel’ strategy and by the Department for Health through their ‘Be Active, Be Healthy’ strategy.
Improvement in Fylde's provision for sport is expanding on the network of clubs, coaches and volunteers. Fylde SPAA is key in ensuring that Sport & Physical Activity is linked from grass roots in the community, schools and into sports clubs. This is so we can increase participation, retain those engaging and ensure that those with talent have the chance to be successful. In short to help people start, stay and succeed in sport and Physical Activity.
At a local level Fylde SPAA links in with Fylde Local Strategic partnership ( LSP) Health & Well-being Agenda and Action Plan and the Fylde's Children's Trust partnership and their Action Plan.
Fylde SPAA operates at a strategic level. For a more grass roots approach Fylde Community Sports Club Forum consists of sporting organisation's across Fylde coming together and sharing good practice, networking and making change. This group feeds into the SPAA. For more information regarding membership of the Sports Club Forum please contact Wendy Voo Club Support Officer.
