Clubmark Presentation
This section includes various resources and information to support local clubs in their development. Follow the navigation menu on the left hand side of this screen to the appropriate area.
To discuss the development of you club please contact the Club Support Officer whose role is to provide 1-2-1 support for the local sports clubs and build links with local partners.
Below are some examples of club development work:
Clubmark Accreditation
Wrea Green Equitation Centre became the first equestrian centre the North West of England to be awarded Clubmark accreditation by the British Horse Society. It’s a double reason to celebrate as it’s also the clubs 30th anniversary. Chris Pollit, Proprietor, says “We’re delighted to become the first centre in the North West of England to be Clubmark accredited. It’s fantastic to get something to show we have the correct procedures to ensure that children feel safe and secure and parents are reassured that Wrea Green Equitation Centre is a safe environment for their children to be in”.

Small Grants Funded
Funding
Several clubs have been successful in attracting funding to support their clubs initiatives.
Fylde Coast YMCA gymnastics Club were able to purchase an additional amplifier for a music system to enable more youngsters to benefit from the the sport.
Lytham Cricket received funds from Fylde's Local Startegic Partnership to purcahse tables and seating to be used by all its sports teams, members and those attending their Help For Heroes Charity 20:20 Cricket match.
Warton Cricket Club were awarded £8'812 from Sport Englands Small Grants fund to purchase a replacment mower.

Bowls Partnership
Wesham Bowling Green have benefited from a £500 donation from Miller Homes to assist them rebuilding the path adjacent to the green. The path will provide better access for users of the green including the weekly visits from the local primary schools. Kirkham Prison has kindly made available man power to assist with the laying of the path.
Fylde Rugby Football Club have been successful in gaining funding from the Fylde Community Projects Fund. The funding will enable the club to train twelve 15 to 17 year olds in a Community Leadership Award in Tag Rugby. The leader's will then be required to organise a series of tag rugby events for local primary schools to take part in. The project will give the students a practical and real life qualification which will help them realise their organisation and leadership talents. The training will also promote further volunteering opportunities, qualification's and employment. 132 people will directly benefit from the project and a further 500 will indirectly benefit from future volunteering from the leader's over the next 3 years.

Minority Golf Sessions
St Annes Old Links Golf Club gained funding to support their drive to increase membership to minority groups. The introductory sessions proved to be very popular.
Warton Typhoons Junior Football Club successfully applied for funds to recruit and retain players from their youth teams who wished to develop their skills in other areas of the game. Five club members will be trained as coaches and matches officials to work with the clubs teams.
Fylde Crown Green Bowls Partnership were able to purchase additional junior bowls equipment to increase the capacity of the sessions held throughout the summer with support form the Fylde Local Strategic Partnership.

Althletics Equipment
Sports Equipment
Several local sports clubs have benefited from sports equipment donated by Fylde Borough Council’s Sports Development Team. The Council’s identified that clubs could make better use of the equipment which it only used on occasional basis. Those clubs to benefit include Lytham St Annes Road Runners, Lytham Tennis Club, Lytham St Annes Hockey Club and Fylde Rugby Club.
Lytham Road runners received a set of indoor athletics equipment to use at its thriving weekly athletics sessions. The equipment is already being put to good use in running, jumping and throwing disciplines. Tony Croft, chairman of Lytham Road Runners, said “Three years ago, when the club decided to open its doors to juniors the support that Fylde Borough Council gave us was a tremendous help in getting the project up and running. Athletics is a great sport which improves skills used in all other sports. The new equipment will help our coaches to further develop our young athletes.”

Hockey Equipment
Joseph Yates from Lytham St Annes Hockey Club said “We’re delighted to receive the sports equipment. Our junior section is growing so I can assure you it will be put to good use!” The equipment was handed over at a junior hockey training session where Graham Cartmell, England Masters Captain was in attendance to help pass on some skills.
Bernard Crosby from Lytham Tennis Club says “The equipment is just what the club needs to grow our junior section and will be put to good use by our Club Coach Luci Cain.”
David Parry, Fylde Borough Council’s Club Support Officer said “It’s great to see local kids making good use of the equipment on a regular basis in a well run club environment. The equipment will help them provide opportunities for more youngsters who want to give these sports a go”.
