Funding is always a key part to any sports club being sustainable. Below are links to a number of different sites with opportunities available for a number of different size and cost projects.
If you want more specific details about if you would qualify for a funding pot you are best to contact the provider directly. If you would like support in putting a bid together once you have your initial ideas please contact the Club Support Officer David Parry.

  • Sport England

In addition to investment in key partners to deliver specific objectives, Sport England have launched funding programmes open to a wide range of organisations. These include sports clubs, voluntary or community organisations, local authorities, schools, colleges and universities. http://funding.sportengland.org/

  • Runningsport

Whatever sport you're involved in, whichever level you work at, runningsport have a huge number of resources that can help you save time, access funding, attract more members…you name it we can make life easier. What’s more, much of the help we can give you is free. www.runningsports.org

  • Local Strategic Partnership (LSP)

The Local Strategic Partnership assists their theme groups and relevant partner agencies with funding as much as possible. They also offer additional funding to community groups through the Community Projects Fund. LSP Funding

  • Sponorbank

SponsorBank was set up with the sole intention of supporting and assisting grass roots sports clubs, schools and other community based organisations. www.sponsorbank.org.uk

  • Grantnet

A straightforward free-to-use service from GRANTfinder, can help small businesses, charitable and community groups like yours to find suitable funding. http://www.grantnet.com/

  • Grants Online

  • The Foundation for Sport and the Arts

The Foundation for Sport and the Arts channel money originally donated by The New Football Pools to a wide range of sporting and artistic causes. http://www.thefsa.net/

  • Sports Aid

Sports Aid grant aids elite sportspeople who are of international competition calibre in their sport. Help is given for costs of training, travel and coaching incurred while preparing for competitions. http://www.sportsaid.org.uk/

  • Mars Refuel

  • Children's Fund

The Children's Fund was launched in November 2000 as part of the government's commitment to tackle disadvantage among children and young people. The programme aims to identify at an early stage children and young people at risk of social exclusion, and make sure they receive the help and support they need to achieve their potential.

  • Football Foundation

As the country’s largest funder of grass roots football, the Foundation has delivered thousands of grass roots community football facility and community projects, as well as free kit and safe goalposts, since its launch in July 2000. http://www.footballfoundation.org.uk/our-schemes/

  • CLA Charitable Trust

A fund, operating in England and Wales, to provide facilities for the disabled and disadvantaged to take part in recreation and education in the countryside. www.clacharitabletrust.org.uk

  • The Co-operative Community Fund

The Community Fund is our grants scheme that helps local communities throughout the UK. Since we started the initiative in 1997, thousands of clubs, community groups and self-help organisations have benefited. Community Fund

  • O2: It's Your Community

Grants for any project that can show it is of benefit to the community. For a sports club this could mean equipment or coaching costs for a new school-club link initiative, setting up a new age section or putting a club coach on a training course, up to £1000. www.itsyourcommunity.co.uk

  • Hilton in the Community

HCF wants to really make a difference to disadvantaged children’s lives. Working closely with our partners, we are supporting efforts in four key areas of need:Disabled children, Children in hospital, Homelessness, Life-limited children in hospices. www.hilton-foundation.org.uk

  • Dicky Bird Foundation

The foundation has the aim of helping disadvantaged young people (under 18) to participate in sport by funding the provision of facilities. Grants are for individuals or groups and will normally range from £500 £5,000. www.thedickiebirdfoundation.org

  • The Peter Harrison Fund

In October 2000 Peter Harrison completed a Deed of Gift under which he and his family gifted £30 million as a capital endowment to the Foundation. The Trustees wish to support those charitable activities that demonstrate an existing high level of voluntary commitment, together with well planned and thought out projects. www.peterharrisonfoundation.org

  • Torch Trophy Trust Bursaries

The aim of the Bursaries is to help volunteers to improve their skills as coaches or officials but are unable to do so without funding. The Bursaries provide financial support for those wishing to undertake training. Torch Trophy Trust

  • Healthy Heart Grants

Community groups, voluntary organisations and researchers involved in preventing heart disease can apply for ‘Healthy Heart’ grants through Heart Research UK. Up to £10,000. Healthy Heart Grants

  • CASC- Community Amateur Sports Club

Sports clubs play a valuable role in their communities. The CASC scheme recognises this important role by distinguishing between clubs and businesses for rates and tax purposes, ensuring money is kept in sports clubs. www.cascinfo.co.uk

Commercial Sponsorship

A number of big companies (e.g. Sainsbury, BT) will have a monthly draw for all their staff who are involved in a community or sports group. Ask all you members and parents if they work in a big corporation to investigate is this happens at their company make sure they put your club in the draw!
