Holidaymakers planning a trip to the Fylde to enjoy the summer weather can now have even more help and information at their finger tips thanks to improvements to the Council’s tourism web site.
Funding has recently been acquired from the Lancashire & Blackpool Tourist Board which will allow updates to the www.visitlythamstannes.co.uk web site. New additions will include news of special offers, systems for booking accommodation or directly enquiring about accommodation, more attractive pages and a Style Destination Video for the website.
The web site is becoming extremely popular with a noticeable move towards web enquiries away from the use of other means such as tourist information centres or brochures. Visitors to the site can already access details of the many hotels in the borough and some of the businesses in the area that have created their own section. There are lists of events and pages of helpful information about the Borough. It is hoped the new improvements will entice even more people to the area providing a much needed boost to the local economy.
Vivien Wood, Tourism Officer at Fylde Borough Council, said: “We strive to ensure potential visitors have access to as much information as possible to encourage them to come to the area. The site has seen a dramatic increase in its use so we hope this extra funding will help boost it even further.”
The new additions will be available on the web site within the next few weeks.
