SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Student Emma Wright has been crowned winner of Fylde's Got Talent after a hotly contested grand final at Lowther Pavilion.

The Marton songstress wowed judges with a rendition of the Fugees version of Killing Me Softly to defeat Prestonian Chloe Walker in a nail-bitting sing-off.
Local duo Brothers of Swing finished third after narrowly missing the sing-offs with their rat-pack style performances.
Winner Emma, who collected £500 in Debenhams vouchers, said she was delighted to be crowned champion.
"It's a great feeling to have won. Everyone in the contest had talent so it was very tough. I chose Killing Me Softly because I felt that it was the song that best showed off my voice and thankfully it paid off."
A total of ten contestants took part in the final, having been narrowed down from dozens of singers, dancers, comedians and choirs who attended auditions in Freckleton and St Annes earlier this year.
They played to a packed out Lowther Pavilion, and Organiser Coun Janine Owen said the event had been so successful that the venue had already been booked for Fylde's Got Talent 2010.
"It was a really fantastic night and all the hard work has paid off. The standard of the acts was really high - they were all winners.
"I would just like to say a big thanks to everyone who came on board. We couldn't have done it without all the people who gave up their own time to help out."
