Whatever the weather there’s always plenty of reason to head to the park!
As Fylde welcomes the push from campaigners to encourage people to make use of their parks as part of Love Parks Week

Fylde Borough council is reminding residents that a quick shower shouldn’t stop people from heading to the park.
The campaign, which is organised by parks charity GreenSpace, aims to raise awareness of the importance of parks, and this year focuses on the role that parks can play in improving the health of children.
Last year, Love Parks Week was celebrated by 300 park events and attracted over 250,000 people to their local parks; this year looks set to be even bigger, with fun and active events for families taking place in parks across the country.
Forecast for the rest of the week is for light showers but that shouldn’t stop people heading to their local park. Many of them have shelters for people to sit and enjoy the fresh open air and now, thanks to friends groups, most parks have multi use games areas which can be used in all weathers. So as long as a quick spot of rain doesn’t put you off why not make the most of the space.
Throughout the whole summer there is plenty to do in the parks with events and activities taking place in practically every park in the Borough. Sports outreach programmes are scheduled on a regular basis throughout the summer and information can be found about them in the Young and Active Fylde summer provision booklet which can be found be logging on to www.fylde.gov.uk/youth.
