Are you tired of the job you’re in but are afraid to make a move because of the crunch? Have you looked everywhere to find a job with no success or fancy a part time job to pass the time over summer?
The Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) has teamed up with Job centre plus to hold a job fair next week to help the unemployed find a new career direction.
Companies from around the Fylde will be at the YMCA on St Albans Road in St Annes on Wednesday 20 May to offer advice on training and job opportunities. Jobs fairs have been very popular over the last few years as it brings the companies offering the jobs face to face with the people looking for employment. It means job hunters can speak with potential employers and find a job that suits them and then hand in an application and CV in person.
Tracy Scholes, Project Manager for the LSP’s Shaping the Place project, said: “One of the many interests the LSP has is to encourage employment and business enterprise. With the credit crunch being such a concern at the moment we also have to address the fact that people need to find jobs that will help them beat the hard times ahead.
“These jobs fairs mean the employer can find a person that is actively seeking work and is keen to get stuck in to a new role. The job seeker knows they will only be speaking to people that could offer them a job and can access a wide range of opportunities. They can even find new career prospects through some of the training providers who are also present. It is a win win so the LSP is happy to have helped organise the event.”
The event will take place between 10am and 2.30pm on Wednesday 20 May. Visit ww.jobcentreplus.co.uk
