Phase 3c after regeneration
A St Annes on Sea regeneration project is asking for your opinion on its success.
The St Annes on Sea Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme (HERS) is a partnership project between Fylde Borough Council, English Heritage and town centre property owners. The project made grants available for the repair of selected buildings within the St Annes on Sea Town Centre Conservation Area. Lancashire County Council became engaged in the second phase of the HERS project and continued it’s involvement through to the Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS).
The project saw shop fronts completely renovated to refurbish them and bring them back in to keeping with the area and style of the building. The idea was to make St Annes look and feel the same way it did when it was first built and restore the pleasant shopping atmosphere in the area.
Lancashire County Council and Fylde Borough Council now wish to undertake an evaluation of the project. To this end EKOS, an independent economic research consultancy has been commissioned to review the project and the impacts and benefits that have been generated for town centre businesses. A questionnaire has been set up on line and residents and businesses are being asked to take part by going online to www.fylde.gov.uk where they will find a link to the survey. It will only take a few clicks and the results used to asses the impact of the scheme and the validity of any future schemes.
