Fylde Borough Council has adopted two projects that aim to help residents back in to the workplace through work placements.

In September 2009 Fylde signed up to the Lancashire County Council Work Start and Future Horizons projects. These projects provide excellent opportunities for people to get into work for the first time, get back into work or get exceptional work experience.
Future Horizons is for young people aged 16 to 18 years old and is designed to get young people into the work place and develop from exceptional direct work experience in a range of services that can be offered at Fylde.
Work Start is for people of any age and is designed to support people back into work who, for one reason or another, have spent some time away from the work environment and are looking for experience and work based references. Fylde is able to offer a fantastic range of service based opportunities to maximise the potential of any candidates.
Councillor Albert Pounder, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement at Fylde Borough Council, said: “The authority is committed to delivering great outcomes for people in the local community through these schemes and at every opportunity will take on board a Work Start or Future Horizons candidate.”
Both schemes have been adopted by Fylde as direct extensions of the Lancashire County Council schemes and operate under the same arrangements. Information on which can be found by visiting www.lancashire.gov.uk and searching for Future Horizons or Work Start.
