Free Electric Blanket Testing

Lancashire County Council’s Trading Standards Service will be running Free Electric Blanket Testing starting early September 2010

The testing will be offered to Lancashire residents on a strict appointment only basis. Please contact us on the telephone number below to book a slot. You will then be directed to a convenient drop off point or testing station where you can leave your blanket. It will then be tested and if it passes returned for you to collect. This may be at a later date. Residents should telephone Trading Standards on 01772 533569 to book a slot.

All electric blankets over 3 years old should be regularly tested. Members of the public, particularly the elderly, are urged to get their electric blankets checked. It is an important safety check which could save someone’s life. By getting them checked out you can have peace of mind that it is safe.
