Showbiz hopefuls are being urged to polish up their acts and enter the Fylde’s Got Talent contest.
The talent show is Fylde’s version of Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent. The local version is being run to raise money for the charities supported by Councillor Paul Rigby, Fylde Council’s mayor.
The contest attracted dozens of entrants last year. So many entrants are expected this year that two open auditions will be held:
9.30am-4pm Sunday 7 February. Freckleton Village Hall.
9.30am-4pm Saturday 13 February. Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish Centre, St Alban’s Road, St Annes.

The Grand Final will be held at the Lowther Pavilion, Lytham, on Saturday 20 February.
The winner will perform at the Mayoral Ball on Friday 12 March at the Clifton Arms Hotel.
Councillor Rigby said: “Last year’s contest showed what talented people we have in the Fylde. We have £1,000 in prize money this year to encourage people to enter this contest.
“We want to see comedians, singers, dancers, pop groups, poets – everyone who feels they have something to offer.
“I hope it will be a springboard for Fylde’s performers to show what they are capable of.”
Entrants should apply online at www.fyldesgottalent.co.uk – but they can also just turn up for auditions.
A third stage of ‘call-back’ auditions on Sunday 14 February will slim down the field ahead of the final.
Tickets for the final can be booked at the Lowther Pavilion box office on 01253 658666.
Last year’s winner was student Emma Wright who sang “Killing Me Softly”.
The talent show will raise money for the borough’s mayoral charities: Lytham St Annes lifeboat, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, the Friends of Sunnybank, and the Snowdrop Centre.
