Lancashire Education Business Partnership teamed up with Mike Kidd Horse Power Ltd to offer 18 children the opportunity to get involved in horse riding as part of a school holiday scheme funded through Fylde Children’s Trust.
Emma Woan, development manager from Lancashire Education Business Partnership, said: “We worked with Mike, Christine, Kristy and the team at Wrea Green Equitation Centre for three days – three days of learning and fun for Fylde children.
“The weather was excellent and all the children had a fabulous time, meeting new friends along the way. This was the first time that many of the children had been horse riding and it was amazing how quickly they learned.”
Fylde Children’s Trust unites the activities of Fylde Council, Lancashire County Council and a range of voluntary groups in the area.
Councillor Karen Buckley, Children’s Trust chair, said: “It was a fantastic three days. All the children were presented with certificates of achievement to celebrate their accomplishments throughout the programme as well as a folder containing quizzes and work sheets.
