Sponsor a seat in Ashton Gardens

Ashton Gardens
You don’t have to head to the shops to pick up a bargain. There’s a bargain to be picked up in Ashton Gardens too!
Fylde Council is offering its benches for sponsorship in the popular park. Forty two benches will be placed around recently reopened Ashton Gardens. They are all up for grabs for anyone who wants to sponsor one as a gift for a friend or as a memorial to a loved one.
The sponsorship package includes maintenance of the bench and a commemorative plaque being added to the high-quality furniture.
The bench will be routinely maintained for the duration of its life, with an option of paying for a new bench when they reach the end of their life in 10 years time.
Councillor Susan Fazackerley, Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture, said: “To sponsor a bench provides a lasting memorial to a loved one or can be simply a donation to such a wonderful open space.
“The benches are well used by people who come and sit in the park to pass the time and enjoy the surroundings. It is a great opportunity to be part of that experience.”
A website has been created so that anyone interested in sponsoring a bench can look at the types of bench that will be used and the locations in which they will be placed.
Some will overlook the rose garden and the sunken garden and others will be along the main entrance to the park.
People can register their interest in becoming a sponsor and request an information pack and application form by visiting: www.fylde.gov.uk/commemorative-benches
