Fylde Council has announced a Cabinet shake-up to streamline decision-making and save money.
The Cabinet is slimming down from eight members to seven in a reshuffle that follows Councillor David Eaves’s election as leader.
His former portfolio of Environmental Wellbeing is taken by Councillor Albert Pounder whose former Cabinet position of Economic Wellbeing is now shared between the Environmental Wellbeing and Leisure and Culture and also Planning portfolios.
Councillor Eaves said: “A smaller Cabinet will streamline decision-making for the benefit of Fylde residents.
“Everyone has to do things differently and save money at the moment and Fylde Council is no exception.
“Much of economic promotion is based on developing tourist-related events and that was already being done well in the Leisure and Culture portfolio. All we are doing now is carrying out the same work with fewer people and at lower cost.”
