On Sunday 29th October Fairhaven Lake will be hosting an Open day to showcase the range of sport and leisure activities that are available in the park.
You can join the clubs based at the lake to try your hand at sailing, bowling, tennis and much more. The event runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm with most of the activities on a drop in, have a go basis. All the activities are free so the whole family can take to the water, see the model boat or get exploring with orienteering. A full itinerary of the day can be found on Fylde Borough Council website, Facebook page and at the Tourist Information Centre based in the Town Hall.
The Fairhaven HLF restoration project team will also be on hand to give updates on the project and will be collecting feedback on what activities you would like to see at Fairhaven.
Activity Development Officer, Julie Vale said, “I hope everyone will come down to have a look at what Fairhaven Lake already has on offer. We have a huge range of activities to suit everyone’s ability and tastes already making it a great place to visit, but with the communities help and feedback it can be made even better!”
Fylde Council will also be running a Lake Action Day, on Wednesday 1st November, we are inviting the community to pull on their gardening gloves and wellies to support our winter bulb planting session. The event will be running from 11am to 3pm and anyone can get involved by coming down to help create a colourful display ready for spring.
Fylde Council’s Tourism and Leisure Chair, Councillor Cheryl Little said: “This is a really exciting time for Fairhaven Lake and in fact Fylde – so I hope local residents and visitors will attend this event and see what’s on offer, whilst it is a fun way to meet other users of the Lake . You can have a go at what takes your fancy - No experience or skills are needed. If you don't feel confident, it's fine just to sit and watch quietly without any pressure.”
