Sealed orders come into force in relation to Public Spaces Protection Orders for dog control in Fylde

Further to the recent Fylde Council Consultation on Public Spaces Protection Orders for Dog Control, a number of sealed orders will come into force with effect from 1st October 2017.

The orders specify locations where a person in charge of a dog are required to keep the dog on a lead or to put a dog on a lead if requested to do so by an authorised officer; in addition, areas where dogs are excluded are covered by an order. Failure to comply with the orders will result in a Fixed Penalty Notice of £100 or you could be prosecuted in the magistrates’ court for a criminal offence and be fined up to £1000.

The specific requirements of the individual PSPOs will be communicated in appropriate locations using a traffic light system with green indicating areas were dogs can be freely exercised off lead; amber indicating areas where dogs are required to be kept on lead; and red for dog exclusions zones.
