The Regulations come into effect when 25% or more of a roof’s area is being refurbished. In simple terms it means that the whole of that roof must be brought up to the thermal efficiency demanded by the current Regulations.
If the works require Building Regulations you or the home owner need to contact the Local Authority and make an application before works commence.
Building Control will give advice, guidance, and carry out inspections of the works, and at the end of the contract can issue a completion certificate.
