The Dandelion

Although the spraying of weeds is a Lancashire County Council responsibility on the highways and verges an agreement has been made between the County Council and Fylde for Fylde Council to arrange the weed spraying twice a year across the Borough.

Weed spraying will take place in early and late summer taking about 5 weeks each time to get round all the areas that need spraying.  Resources are limited so the focus has to be on dangerous weeds or weeds that may cause damage to highways, pavements etc.  If possible additional work will be done in exceptional circumstances.

The weather conditions need to be right for weed spraying so delays may occur if there is rain or winds over 10 kph.

If the weeds are in the parks or public gardens then please use the online form that can be accessed on every page of our website called 'complaint' and we will make sure the weeds are sorted.  You can also call 01253 658658.
